Learn About Affiliate Marketing

If you are a beginner or struggling with affiliate marketing this guide should help you. I am going to offer you a brief overview of the stuff that you have to do to become a successful affiliate.

For a high quality Affiliate marketing course the following is a must see Affiliate Marketing Course

There is stack of money to be accumulated through affiliate marketing, and on many affiliate programs, the affiliates are in effect making more cash through commission then the merchant is making overall through the sale.

Firstly you have to get an idea of what affiliate marketing actually is:
You will often see the acronym SOPS floating around, this stands for selling other peoples stuff. If you have a acceptable site that the merchant deems acceptable for promoting their products, you will then be accepted as an affiliate. When you are accepted by the merchant they will provide you with an affiliate link, this is the link you should use on your website because when someone follows through your link and buys something on the merchants site, you will be atributed with the commission. There are many different kinds of affiliates, to name a few Amazon (for selling things like physical goods), clickbank (for selling digital products), Dating websites (for selling website memberships) there are a lot more and you need to find the one that suits your website. My personal recommendation is to sell electronic products, this is because it seems to be a lot simpler, and there are bigger commissions (from my own experience). The key to being able to offer a good commission is to have as little overheads as possible, because clickbank specialise in digital products they tend not to have the overheads other merchants may have to deal with.

The merchant is in fact using their affiliate as advertising for their product, its quite a neat way because instead of paying for PPC they only pay if they receive a sale. For example if the merchant has 100 affiliates advertising their product, the likelihood is that every affiliate is promoting it in a different way ie keywords etc, this means that the merchant is going to be 100 times more likely to gain a sale.

I often hear the question, Do i need to pay anything before i can get this under way?

To be fair you can do all this for nothing, you only require a blogging account from somewhere such as wordpress, although i don’t recommend this because you are unlikely to complete as many sales. Now if you are able to buy a domain you can install some blogging software such as wordpress to make it more friendly to the user.Having your own domain makes your website look a bit more professional and not one that has just been quickly thrown together for as little cost as possible, google tends to rank .Com domains much better then a normal .wordpress.com website..com domain URL’s tend to cost about $10, there are many places you can buy a domain from but i personally favour GoDaddy

If you do go down the route of buying your own domain, you will also need to buy “hosting”. Hosting is somewhere that you can keep your domain, you are buying some web space (to put it in real life context: when you park your car in a public car park, many of these    charge an amount for certain times you are paying for a space for that allotted time).I tend to use “HostGator” their pricing is extremely reasonable ranging from roughly $5 p/m (not a great deal for the return in affiliate marketing you could be making).
