Data Entry Jobs

14 May 2009 No Comment

Data entry jobs are part of the Internet rush for gold, and some people claim to have their pockets full of dollars by simply plunking at the computer from the comfort of their home. Data entry jobs require no human contact, the stress levels are incomparably lower and there is no experience necessary, or at least this is what the advertisements for such positions claim. To debunk the not so solid data entry myth, this kind of employment cannot produce hundreds of dollars per day because the tasks involved are some of the most basic: emailing and typing. On certain occasions these are nothing else but the more recent versions of the old scam with envelope stuffing at home.

Yet, we cannot ignore the truth: there really are good data entry jobs, but they resemble much any other employment form. For instance, one has to file an application, pass a typing test and give references on former experience and work places. Most data entry jobs are local because most businesses are too cautious to entrust their source company data to people they cannot check from some distant country. Typists are usually chosen from the local area, not to mention that the generated revenue is rather modest in accordance with the level of education and work required.

So as to stay away from scams, never forget that data entry jobs are totally free of charge. You should not pay a cent to get access to information because reliable companies have all the interest to get the right people for the jobs. The ads that link to web pages where a small fee is charged for the material necessary for training purposes, are scams, and they should not be trusted. How is it possible that so many people get duped by such situations?

You are out of job and need money desperately, you try something and see that no money comes out of it; from a certain point onward you’ll abandon common sense and start making incorrect decisions. This is the moment Internet sharks take advantage of. This is in fact the weakness that most scam authors wait for: to get to someone who is nearly desperate to come up with a solution and see some money coming out of it. Therefore, it is good to be well informed and down-to-earth all the time, because a realistic perspective is a lot more difficult to shake.
